This French-Guianese chicken stew needs lots of ingredients but it worth the hassle! This creamy, spicy, aromatic dish is great for big family events. It needs a special spice mixture called Colombo spice mix, but you can make your own and if you prepare a big batch in advance, you'll always have some when it's needed. I have to admit, I didn't particularly like pumpkin until once I mistakenly took pumpkin soup at a dinner. Since it was already on my plate, it would have been rude to refuse to eat it so I tried it. This is one of my favourite salads, I prepare it very often - sometimes with chicken, sometimes with king prawn, and sometimes without any meat. Pique macho is a famous Bolivian dish. It was born in Cochabamba, at Restaurant Miraflores. Legends says that some hungry workers entered the restaurant right before closing time, and requested "anything edible". This grape chutney is great if you don't feel like eating raw grapes or they are not sweet enough. It is great with cheese and crackers. This version contains lots of alcohol, but you can substitute it for water, orange or grape juice. Minestrone is a hearty Italian soup containing the most delicious vegetables. It is cooked differently in every household because its original purpose was to use the leftover vegetables. I really like cream soups, they're so versatile and you can spice them however you feel like. This curried carrot cream soup is one of my favorites.
